For running the installer, Java SE 8 or newer is needed. A self contained application embedding SapMachine and OpenJFX is installed.
The Java runtime and the required OpenJFX UI framework are coming as part of the installer. For known issues using macOS Big Sur see SAP note 2994695. The requirements can be found in SAP note 2511185.
